I am now officially signed up for college (NICE). I got my results back from the placement test I took yesterday and faired pretty well. An 88% to be exact. Because of my good score I am now able to sign up for any course the school has to offer. Whomever graded my test suggest that I take such classes as literature and journalism. I opted though to start off with a much more basic class and signed up for English 101, a class in which everyone who whishes to pursue an associates degree must eventually take. I think this is probably the right choice for me considering I have not had an actual class in which I had to study and do homework since High School. English should be a nice ice breaker for me. My first class will begin on Sept. 2nd and run through December 20th. I will go to class two nights a week, Tuesday and Thursday, from 7:30 to 8:50. I could not have asked for a better schedule. They tried to offer me a Monday class but I felt reluctant to take it for obvious reasons. Two nights should be just fine for now. I think I will eventually go more when I get more into it.

Aside from all that my life is rolling along just fine and I am looking forward to the new changes that will come in the upcoming months. Having my privacy back again will be great. Also with my friend Adam and all his mates moving up next week I’m sure my social life will be much more stimulating. All that’s left to do now is to start going back to the gym on my off nights and try to get back down to 175lbs. Well lets hope for at least two out of three anyway. Before all that though it’s time for one last summer ha rah with ‘Shitty Whittey’ and the professor. It looks to be panning out as a ‘kind’ weekend in the big city.

Well I’d really love to show you some pictures of Dad’s 78th B-day party but blogger won’t let me. Anyways the party was blast and fun was had by all. The weather was grand and everybody was in good spirits. Other than that I laid low for the rest of the weekend. Today I took that placement test and school. Everything went fine and I think I did pretty well on the test. Tomorrow I get my test results back and going by those I will know more about what class I will be taking to start out with. I will pay for my first class and officially sign up tomorrow evening at around six. I am so looking forward to this whole experience. The people at school seem so nice and outgoing. I can only hope the teachers are the same, my guess is that they are fore I have talked to a few of them. Last but not least who can forget the females (whew) I can hardly control myself. It’s like a constant slight of the eye to see the hottey across from you. It’s like a job in itself just trying not to get caught looking. All I can say is that if I can’t find a few good chicks here I should probably give up.

The rest of this week is hectic for me I must say. Tomorrow is school sign up, then Wednesday I have to do a little last minute shopping for the big trip then it’s of to the Big Apple to forget about life for a while. I am really looking forward to getting away to somewhere different for change from this town. Sad to say this will be the first actual trip I will have taken this summer. Can you find the justice in that? Neither can I. Oh well I guess that’s the life of a tradesmen. Good thing for brothers in New York.

I finally got a new job location to work at that is much closer to the city. After about a couple weeks of light nagging I finally got the word that there was a need for guys in Oak Park. I started there today and had a good gig. I already knew about half of the guys so that was cool and the jobsite was only twenty minutes from my place. I hope to be there for a while. As for the weekend I will lay low for tonight fore I have my fathers 78th birthday party tomorrow. Before that party I will have to perform some plumbing work (go figure) for the folks at their house so I have to be there bright and early in order to finish in time for the party. Oh well I guess I will just have to let my wild side out next weekend in the big apple.

Another (sticky) day another dollar. Today was one of the worst , muggiest, hottest days this summer has had too offer. I was told that the heat index got up to 100 degrees. I was just so happy to get home and take a barely luke warm shower. After that it was time to just bum around the flat in my boxers with the air down so low I could almost see my breath (NICE). To tell you the truth I hate the hot weather. Anything over 75 for me is very uncomfortable. The only two seasons in Chicago that I like are spring and fall. I mean after a hard days work on the job site I’m not about to hit the beach after words. I just want to come home and relax and wait until the weekend comes for that which is probably one of the biggest reason I am getting out of this damn business and into a job that has a little more flexibility as far as days and hours go.

Anyways I don’t want to vent about that but only talk about this whole college thing that I will be doing soon. I actually went to take a placement test yesterday only to be refused because the test room was full. I was told to get there an hour early, which I was, but still got rejected though because of the number of participants. Not to fear though, the school is offering a few make up classes for those who missed the test. I must take the test on Monday in order to get my results and get registered by September 2nd. I hope this trip to NY does not make this a problem. Oh well, I’m sure things will work out if I’m persistent.

Day three of this new computer thing. I’m still trying to figure it all out. A lot of new things to learn I can tell. I’m sure it will be fun. The one thing I defiantly noticed as a big change is the size of the keypad, wow is this going to take some getting used to. What I can’t wait for is to get my new computer desk set up so my laptop will be at the right height. Tonight I will try to print my first picture and hey maybe even burn a cd or two.

This is my first entry from my neeeew computer. (NICE)

Long time no blog again I know, but I’m not real happy with blogger anymore. I had another publishing problem since last time and not to mention they still will not let me upgrade to blogspot plus so hell with em’. Anyways I am going to a pet store this morning looking for a new companion now that I will be living on my own soon. I’m thinking about a ‘Cockatiel’. A bird seems like the best option for me. Obviously I can’t own a dog and I don’t really like cats and fish are to boring so I think a bird is right up my alley. I used to have a couple of parakeets before and really enjoyed them. This time around though I think I would like to upgrade to a cockatiel because they are more interactive than parakeets. I have been doing a lot of reading up on them and they seem to be within my reach as for as caring and attention. I really would like to have something to come home to and I think the responsibility of caring for the bird will be good for me. Anyways I will write more of this when I know more.

I went to the ‘Saw Doctors’ concert last night and had a great time. After words I went back down to the south side were I picked up my friend and we had one of the best burritos I ever had. I am expecting a few friends to come up to my place and hang out for a while later on today. Other than that things are fine and work is plentiful. I hope to have a new computer by the end of next week.

Well kind of a boring Saturday if you ask me. Last night I went to a music swap on the west side of the city with Massart. That was actually pretty cool. I bought two dvd videos and a one cd from a kind of new English band called ‘ Tahiti 80’. So far they sound pretty good. After we did that a few of us went to a small patio party at Egan’s new place. That was cool but I got so damned tired I just went home at about 12:30. Now I am just taking care of some small business and doing laundry so I can have clean work clothes for this upcoming workweek. I hope we do not get any rain this weed for I have not had a full 40-hour paycheck in quit some time.

This Thursday I will be taking that placement test a Wright College. I have been browsing their study guide a little here and there to familiarize myself with what will be on the test. I can’t really learn much from it but I can get an idea of what the content of the test will be. Other than that I’m just taking it easy and looking forward to starting school.
