Congratulations Tampa Bay! What a fine job by a fine team. I hate to say it but I told you so. I was very happy for them and their city, after all it was their first time there. Oakland looked as flat as a pancake, what a surprise. Anyways my get together for the game went pretty well I thought. Massart came for a while before he went to the ‘Second City’ improve with Greg. Then Whitty came up to join the rest of us, all in all it twas a good time and most importantly I made it to work on time Monday. Actually last week went pretty well for me. I got laid twice and met a new Check women on Saturday. Her name is Iva. She is a friend of Vera’s’ who else? I met her in Filoneks’ where else? I was introduced to her, we started to chat and we had a great conversation. She asked me if I liked tennis and of course I said yes and then she asked me if I had a partner and of course I said no. So from there I said to her we should get together sometime for some q.t. on the court. She agreed then she gave me her number. She told me she plays in a band and that she had a gig on Valentines Day. She will be practicing a lot until then so maybe tennis will be on hold for a while. I decided to give her a call tonight anyway and of course I caught her in the middle of rehearsal(d’oh). I told her we would talk another time. I love meeting new women, ya just never know how it might turn out ya know.

So I dropped my E-terra off at the Nissan dealer today for some repairs. I have at least five things that need to be fixed.

1: Rear passenger side speaker is blown.
2: All dash lights went out.
3: Vehicle pulls to the left, needs to be aligned.
4: Transmission does not seem to shift properly in cold weather.
5: Funny rattling noise from engine when in idle or low speeds.

I told the guy there that my vehicle drives like a 97’ model not a 2002’ waz up wit dat? They took the car from me until tomorrow I think and gave me a Dodge Stratus for now as a rental. I hope they fix that damn thing right this time. To top that off I had a minor catastrophe happen at work today to make things worse. A full can of PVC pipe primer fell into my tool bucket on accident. Some new apprentice left the damn lid off the can and it spilled into my bucket. That was not the worst of it unfortunately. When I emptied the bucket to clean the tools off I realized that I had put my wallet in the bucket at the beginning of the day. Needless to say the wallet and everything in it got fucking destroyed. I almost flipped out. I was so angry with him and myself of course. The primer is meant to clean the plastic pipe before you glue it, so you can imagine what it did to all my credit cards and Id’s and union cards. I must now replace all that shit over time, not to mention some numbers of women and jobs I wrote on the back of business card have all vanished. What a fucking mess ha! And the wallet was a $60 wallet I bought with a leather jacket a couple of years ago. Shit like that makes you star to hate your job. Oh well, I think I’m already half way over it by now.

I have watched so good movies lately. ‘Life’ with Eddy Murphy and Martin Lawrence, it was pretty funny. Also the ‘Untouchables’ with Robert Dinero and Kevin Kostnor, another pretty decent movie. I have been going through my roommates DVD collection to find the best movies, I will let you know about some more in the future.

Finally I had a great night for once in a while last night. An old friend Gab called me up last light at around 6 o’clock or so. I was very surprised to here from her for I had given her my number a long time ago. She is a flight attendant from Brazil, and she had been to busy to call but she had some time last night so she called me and her and I and some friends went to Jonny O’Hagens last night. Well to put things in perspective I did not come home last night. I was also invited to go to Brazil for a weekend or so in the future, so maybe I’ll try that out this summer. Other than that things are fine, I’m having my superbowl party tomorrow, I must do some shopping tomorrow for some party goods. I’ll have to remember not to get to wasted for I have work at 6 o’clock on Monday morning. Work is great so far, I really hope they keep me at this job-site for a long time because it’s so damn close to my place. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. I have the Verve jamming in the background right now and I’m waiting on a call from Eillen, we spoke earlier today about going tonight. If she does not call I will hit some Check bars in town with my buddy Petre (a Check guy). By the way Dave Cropera e-mailed back yesterday and said he was still interested in coming out in Feb. By the way he sounded it seemed like he was defiantly coming out so that’s cool. Go Tampa!!

Hello there! Its freezen out there! Holy ice fingers batman! Yesterday I washed my van because the early afternoon sun fooled me into thinking it was a little warmer than I thought, boy was I wrong. By the time I was done rinsing the van down my fingers were frozen and there were suds frozen on my wrist. Burrrrr!!! No more of that shit for a while. I wanted to do some work to my van this week but this weather will not permit me to do anything like that. Oh well. Congratulations to Daniele McMahon of NYC who won some concert tix of some cheesy classic rock station yesterday. Talk about a lack of a social life man, I mean who actually calls into those things, may you go to the gig Dan and meet some loyal loopers and have a great time pounding Shlitz all night. Oh yeah make sure to take plenty of pictures of you and your new buddies’ with their Def Leopard t-shirts on. I’m sure they will love your new high-tec digital camera. Anyways, enough of that, shall we start the countdown to war yet or what? I was wondering today about how many wars I will live through before I go, and will they ever truly accomplish anything. Maybe I shouldn’t wonder so much about these things especially being that we have guys like George W. at the controls. Maybe I shouldn’t comment at all, I mean I’m not really up on politics but a new war cant be good, could it? By the way I’m having a get together on Super Bowl Sunday. I expect about 6-8 people should show up, should be fun. 10 bucs on the bucs, what a ya say.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. day. I hope you had a good one. It twas just another manic Monday for me I guess. The least I can say is that I have been getting up in time for work lately. I have been using 976-wake sad to say. I mean hey I have no other choice. In case you don’t know, waking up at 4:50 a.m. has been a tough task for me to say the least. Just last week I slept through two alarms for about two hours. I know how does one do that, well somehow I find a way. I could not go into work that late so I called in sick for the first time. I was so angry with myself for having to do this. Walking into work two and a half hours late looks like you’ve been out drinking or something, it looks really bad. Luckily the flu had been going around on this job site I have been working on so I used that as an excuse and nothing was said. I know I cannot use this excuse now for another year so I must make it to work on time even it kills me, hence I now have to call 976-wake for my morning wake up call. I know it cost money but it’s better than having to deal with the guilt of missing work. My biggest problem is that I have fallen into a terrible habit of falling asleep at about 5:30 or so every evening and waking up at around 8 or 9 o’clock. That obviously keeps me up until late at night. Tomorrow I am going to my doctor to talk about this issue. I hope maybe he can give me something to correct this. O.k. enough of that sleepy talk for now I will tell you how everything went at another time.

I finished the McGorman’s bathroom remodel job on Saturday. It turned out pretty good I think, they used some pretty neutral colors for the project. They installed light color tiles on the floor and on the walls for the tub surround and a very light tan color marble counter top. I thought they could have did a little more with the design but none the less it turned out pretty good and the plumbing looks very nice (of course). ‘ You know who the king plumber is!’ Sean left for Ireland that evening I got paid and everyone was satisfied, even Mary. I am actually glad that job is over because it got pretty hectic at times over there. Saturdays especially, Mary would always have her hair customers over and not to mention the kids and their friends, haircut visits will be just fine for now on. That Saturday I got home and received my first paycheck in the mail from Pro. Plumbing and got a disappointing shock to say the least. I was getting less money than I thought I would be getting. Today I called their office and asked what the jive was about, I spoke to a secretary and she gave me one of the head honchos numbers to call. I had to sort that mother fuc…. out. We agreed on a deal that satisfies me for now. I will get full plumbers scale when I get my license, hopefully that will be in April. Besides that the job is going pretty good so far, I am working in an underground parking garage of a four-story condo building. This garage is being temporarily heated because they are pouring concrete on the floors, this is very helpful considering it was only 20 degrees out today. I hope it lasts. I decided today that I am going to drive my van every day to work instead of my Ex-terra. It was getting so dusty on that jobsite it was starting to drive me crazy. I got it washed today and will now only use it for pleasure.

I must e-mail my friend Dave Cropera soon so he can let me know if he is still coming to Chicago in February for the weekend. I hope he does that should fun, I can use some fun these days to beat these winter blues. I’m getting so sick of hanging around with older people all the time. No offense to the gang of course but they are starting to get to me with their couply shit. For example I got invited to Cullens on last Friday, there was an awesome U2 tribute band playing and a lot of fine looking women as well. I said ok now this is my kind of seen, but then they all wanted to leave to go to the 10 cat some kind of quiet chill out type of bar on Irving and Ashland. Needless to say I was pretty disappointed with that night. I know it was my choice to go with them but it was either go or maybe be stuck on my own for the night. I think I just need to find some friends my own age that’s all. I will try to download some photos next time so I can spice up this blog a little bit. Stay warm!!

January 15, 2003

Hey there. Not much going on today except I got my refurbished phone today from at@t. It will probably take me at least an hour to reinsert all my damn numbers again. What a pity. I tried to make an entry to my blog yesterday but again I fucked up by not saving it properly. I then lost everything I wrote so I will try to remember what I put in there today. I must get better at this computer business. Yesterday I went to court for a traffic ticket I got for crossing over the tracks a while back. I got into court at about 9:45 a.m. when I should have been there at about 9:00. I did not that realize that damn parking lot in Maywood was such a zoo. Luckily my lawyer had not left me stranded, I would have been screwed. I ended up having too pay $100 for a fine, that sure beats $500 if you ask me. I got to work at about 11:15 or so and worked until 1:45, I know ‘long day’. When I got home I called the unemployment office to check about my back money and they told me I was rejected of my benefits due to my last employers appose. I got pissed off and called carrozza plumbing and spoke with the guy who supposedly laid me off and ripped him a new asshole. He sounded kind of sympathetic towards me but I did not care I really laid in to him by saying some pretty nasty things. I then hung up on him. I really don’t feel that bad about it though, it felt good to get that off my chest. I had been sweating a lot of things since I got laid off that time. I’m sick of being to nice to people about things like that, I think in a sort of way he understood where I was coming from. I just hope I don’t come across him for a while. Got ta get a gun! Got ta get a gun! Just kidding. I can now appeal the judgment and get the money when I win the appeal. I just want to get the whole thing behind me right now.

Now for some better news, I would like to congratulate Tom Cox and my cousin Susan McMahon on their recent engagement. They got engaged on Monday, the day of their two-year anniversary. They are one of the nicest couples I know and I want to wish them lots of luck for many years ahead. Besides that I spoke with my brother Danny in NY and Eileen last night about an idea I had in my head lately about possibly going to college. I know it sounds crazy but it could be a great idea for me right now. I don’t have a ton of things going on in my life right now so it could be the best thing for me to do. I was thinking that if I pass my plumbers license test and get my license soon I would free up a lot of spare time in the evening. I mean what else am I going to do, hang around Massart all of the time. Besides it is a great way to meet new people (especially women) and better myself educationally at the same time. I could get a degree, make new friends and possibly more. I defiantly think its something I’m going to per sew in the very near future. I talk about this more at another time.

Yo its me again! I know its been a while since my last blog entry but Iv’e been busy studying for that damned license test. I finally took it Saturday morning, I think it went pretty well. I feel confident that I passed it but I don’t want to get hopes up to high because I wont find out the results for 4-6 weeks. I cant wait till I get it because then I will be untouchable as far plumbing standards go. Speaking of which my new job is going great so far. Nice people and they do things the right way over there, no bullshit like one guy to do a two man job. Its been great having a normal work schedual to go by, rather than going to bed at 2:00 at night and getting up at 11:00 in the morning. That can get very depressing I noticed. So now things are cool again and I will be getting my first paycheck sometime Wednsday. My company has the direct deposit option, so I decide to give it a try, it seemes to be the most convienent way to do it. Anyways enough about work for now, I finally got that fucking drill I bought off e-bay about a month or so ago. The seller lost the paperwork on my purchase so he could not even locate where the drill was. I got pissed off at him over the phone one day and told him I wanted to pick it up myself, he gave me his address in the city where his shop was and he told me he would give me the shipping money ($22) back. I went there one Wed. after work to get it and realized his shop was really a pawn shop and it was located in the fucking ghetto. I could not believe it. When I got there the seller I spoke to on the phone who said he would be there was not. Instead I was greeted by his partner, some young inbred looking mo-fo. He gave me the drill but he said he had no money on him but the seller was going to be there in an hour or so. I said fuck that and took the drill anyway, I was not about to hang around in the middle of the worst neighborhood I had ever seen for an hour. So now I have to call this dick head and try to get some money off him. If he does not give me my money Im going to rip him on my feedback for e-bay. Besides that the drill looks good and the bits it came with are awesome so hopefully it wont turn out to be that bad of a purchase after all. I think it goes without saying that I will not be buying off that screwball again. I guess e-bay is only as good as your experience.

Im listening to James right now in the background. They have got to be one of the best bands. I really don’t know a lot about them, my brother made burned me some of his James music a while ago and Im only now starting to listen to it. I have their ‘millonairs’ cd and two compilations. I absolutely love their music. Sit down, and this song about Fred Estare so far are my favorites. Tomarrow Im going to best buy to get their liad cd. That is an awesome album, I used to have it but it got lost or stolen or something. I think its one of those albums I always want to have in my collection. Anyways last night was pretty fucked up. I had not gone out drinking in three weeks due to that test I had so I really wanted to go out and have a great time with the boys. I had Tom X, Massart, and Shitty Whitty over before we went out for some early drinks. I did not have much to eat before I started drinking vodka last night. Needless to say it caught up to me pretty quick. By the time we left my place I was feeling kind of wrecked. Shortly after we left for some bars I blacked out. I remember going to some German bar and just putting my head on the bar, nest thing ya know I was running outside for the garbage can to ralph. I felt so fucking sick I thought I was going to die. I have not felt like that in years. The boys drove me straight home after that. Dave told me that the bartender was laughing her ass off at me as I ran out of the bar to throw up. That made me feel a lot better(not). Now I have to wait to go out again until next Friday because of work. Theres no way Im going out drinking on a weekday when I have to wake up at quarter to five every morning, I will just have to make the best of my weekends for now on. Myself and Whittey went to Chief O’niels for lunch this afternoon, and I met up with and old Irish friend that I used to work with, we bullshitted for a while and we exchanged numbers again so we could hook up another time. I was happy to meet him again, he’s kind of a fuck head but he knows how to have a good time. Besides he has a hot girlfriend and she usually brings some hot friends along with her so that could lead to good things too. I am thinking about throwing a super bowl party so I will probably invite him to come up to it. I think having a good friend around at times can help pass the time wonderfully. He also showed me his new cell phone that he got recently, it has a built in digital camera option. You just hook up this very small attachment to it and it uses the screen as a lense. I think this would be a great idea for a very mobile digital camera. It would be ideal in bars or concerts you can just keep it in your pocket. I will look into this camera to see if actually any good or see if its just some new gimic. That’s all for now, I will try to write at least every other day now that I im done studying.

Well, well, well. Isn't funny how a simple life situation can really change your mood and the way you view things. For instince yesterday I was really getting aggitated with my life because I had no work for about 5 weeks prior, it was getting to the point where I was just looking for things to do to pass the day, but today I got a call from a company and they said they want to hire me(nice). I think it goes without saying that my attitude has changed slightly. I am so exited about getting back into my normal work routine. I will be working in Evenston for a while on this new job site until it is finished. I am so happy because now I can pay off some bills and I will buy a new digital camera for myself. Thats it for now. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP!

Happy New Year!! I'm now finally recovered from all the new years events that have been going on thank God. I guess now I wil have to get really serious about getting a job. I am going to call a couple back of companies tomarrow that seemed interested in hiring me. I need to get back on track with work before I get to used to being off, being lazy, and partying a lot. Also my plumbers liscience test is coming up so its time to hit the books much harder. I really think that if or when I pass this test I'll be gone off to travel Europe for a little while. My vehical problems are not getting any better lately, my "red roach" van is leeking transmission fluid causing it to slip pretty bad, but my sister Mary's neighbor who I just discovered is a mechanic, is also currently laid-off and is looking for work so I wil give him a shot at fixing it. I hope to keep the damage around $100 to $150 if I can. I will be off to my mothers house again tomarrow to finish some plumbing work, this will give be a good reason to get out of bed early and start the day off on the right foot. Until next time, PEACE OUT!!
